Nine interface languages

The Quran is one language and the people reading it are not. The whole app — every screen, not a translated menu over an English core — runs in nine.

Interface language is separate from the translation you read beside a verse, and separate again from the tafseer. Somebody reading an English interface may want an Arabic tafseer, and the app does not force those three choices to agree.

Arabic runs right to left throughout, as it should: not an English layout with Arabic words in it.

Amharic and Malay are on that list for a reason. Large Muslim populations are badly served by apps that stop at the obvious languages, and adding one is a translation file, not a rewrite.

What you get

Nine, in full

Every screen, not just the menus.

Proper right-to-left

Arabic is laid out as Arabic.

Independent of translation

Interface, translation and tafseer are three choices.

How it works

  1. Settings → Language

Pick one; the app changes immediately.

  2. Choose your translation separately

From a verse's sheet in the mushaf.
