Themes and reading comfort

People read at different times of day, in different light, with different eyes. Fourteen app themes — Black & Gold among them — and nineteen separate palettes for the mushaf page itself.

The app's theme and the mushaf page's colour are two different settings on purpose. Somebody who wants a dark app at night may still want a warm paper page rather than white text on black, and the reverse is just as common.

Beyond colour: set the type size, choose a background image of your own, and keep the screen awake while you read so it does not dim in the middle of an ayah. There is an automatic dark mode if you would rather the app follow the time of day than be told.

None of this is decoration. A page you can read for twenty minutes without your eyes complaining is a page you will read for twenty minutes.

How it works

  1. Settings → Appearance

  3. Size it, and keep it lit

Type size and the keep-awake switch are in the same place.
