Daily goals and gentle reminders

A goal you can see, and a reminder that arrives at a sensible moment. Reading reminders are set relative to prayer times rather than to the clock, because that is when the day actually has a gap in it.

A goal is a number of pages a day, set by you or by the circle's admin. It is deliberately small and concrete: 'four pages' is something a person does, 'read more Quran' is not.

Reminders can be anchored to a prayer — twenty minutes after Fajr, say, or before Maghrib — instead of to a fixed hour. A fixed hour is wrong in a different way in every season and in every city; a prayer is already the shape of the day.

You choose which reminders exist at all: reading, azkar, the adhan per prayer, and circle notifications are separate switches. The app is meant to be a help, and a help you cannot turn down is not one.

What you get

Pages, not vagueness

A daily number you either met or did not.

Anchored to prayer

Before or after a prayer, wherever you happen to be.

Per-type switches

Reading, azkar, adhan and circle alerts are independent.

Set for someone else

A circle admin can set a member's goal for them.

How it works

  1. Set the goal

In your circle, or in your own settings if you read alone. Pages per day.

  2. Choose when to be reminded

Settings → Notifications. Pick the prayer to anchor to and the offset before or after it.

  3. Read

Pages count themselves from the mushaf. When the goal is met the reminder stops for the day.
