Read the Quran with the people you love

The idea
Reading is easier when you are not doing it alone
Almost everyone means to read more Quran than they do. The gap is rarely about wanting to, and it is never about not owning a mushaf. It is that a private intention has nothing holding it up.
So this app puts something underneath it. A circle — your household, or a memorisation halaqa of two hundred — where everyone has a daily page goal and everyone can see how the others are doing. Not a leaderboard, and not a guilt machine. Just the ordinary fact that you are more likely to read your four pages when your father can see that you have not.
Everything else in the app exists to remove an excuse: the mushaf in the script you learned from, the recitation you already had, the prayer times you were checking elsewhere, and the whole thing working with the signal off.
Everything in the app
One app, not five
The mushaf, the recitations, the prayer times, the azkar, the hifz and the circle are all one thing. Tap any of them to read exactly what it does and how it works.
The complete mushaf
All 604 pages of the Madani mushaf, exactly as they are printed.
Tafseer, translation and notes
The meaning of a verse, in your language, beside the verse itself.
Recitations you can keep
A wide choice of reciters, by surah or by verse, downloadable and offline.
Quran radio and live channels
Continuous recitation to leave on, and live broadcasts from the Haramain.
Khatm planner
Say how many days, and the app works out the daily reading.
Family circles
A Quran reading circle for a household or a halaqa of up to 200, joined by a short name instead of a link.
The circle's group chat
A conversation that lives where the reading does, not in another app.
Daily goals and gentle reminders
Nudges timed against the prayer, so they land when somebody is free.
Memorisation tracking
What you have memorised, surah by surah, and what is next.
Hifz with AI
Recite out loud and the app follows you, word by word — on your device.
Prayer times and adhan
Times for where you are, with a reminder you set per prayer.
Qibla compass
Which way to face, in a room you do not know.
Morning and evening azkar
The day's remembrance, with a counter that keeps your place.
Digital tasbih
A counter that does not lose count.
The ninety-nine Names
The ninety-nine Names of Allah, each with its meaning.
Hadith library
A collection to read through, and to send on.
Fasting tracker
Knows Mondays and Thursdays, the white days, Dawud, Ashura, Arafah and the six of Shawwal.
Hijri calendar
The Hijri and Gregorian dates side by side, with Ramadan, Ashura and Arafah marked.
Your reading journey
Pages read, your current streak, your longest one, and how far through a khatm you are.
Themes and reading comfort
Fourteen themes, nineteen page colours, your own background, and a screen that stays awake.
Nine interface languages
Arabic, English, German, Amharic, Malay, Portuguese, Turkish, Russian and Japanese.
Works without a signal
The mushaf, the azkar, the tasbih, prayer times and anything you downloaded.
Private by default
No account, no ads, no recording — and every permission optional.
Getting started
Four minutes, and your family is reading together
Install and open it
The mushaf is on screen immediately. No sign-up, no email, no permission asked for before you have read a word.
Create a circle
Family → Create. Give it a name and a short nickname — something people can say out loud and type without a mistake.
Tell people the nickname
They install the app, tap Join, and type it. You approve them, and set each one a daily page goal that suits them.
Read
Everybody's progress fills in from the mushaf itself. Nobody reports anything, and the reminder arrives after a prayer rather than at a random hour.
Family circles
Joined by a name, not a link nobody can type
A seven-year-old and a grandmother are not going to paste a forty-character URL. A circle has a short nickname instead — said once at dinner, typed correctly the first time. Up to two hundred people, each with a daily page goal, a visible bar against it, and a group chat where the conversation happens beside the reading instead of in another app.
- Up to 200 members in one circle
- A goal per person, set by the admin
- Progress counted from the mushaf itself
- Chat with a profanity filter, report and block
Hifz with AI
Recite out loud, and the app follows you
Most people memorise alone and have nobody to recite to. Open a surah, start reciting, and the words light up as you say them — so where you paused or slipped is somewhere you can see rather than guess at. The recognition runs entirely on your device: no audio is recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
- Word-by-word following as you recite
- Runs on the device — nothing is uploaded
- Works offline after a one-time model download
- Pairs with surah-by-surah hifz tracking
What we do not do
No account, no ads, no recording
The app opens straight into the Quran. Nothing is required of you and no permission is asked for until the moment a feature genuinely needs it — location for prayer times and the Qibla, the microphone for memorisation practice and for voice notes in a circle, the camera or your photos when you choose a picture to send, and that is the list. There is no advertising, there is nothing to buy, and you can delete your account and this device's data from inside the app.
Nothing required
No sign-up, no email, no profile to fill in.
Nothing recorded
Recitation is recognised on the device and discarded.
Location stays put
Used for prayer times and Qibla; it never leaves the phone.
Free, and free of ads
No advertising and no in-app purchases, anywhere.
Common questions
What people ask
What is Family Quran?
A free Quran app with the complete 604-page mushaf, recitations, tafseer and translations, memorisation tracking with on-device recitation following, prayer times, azkar, a fasting tracker — and family circles, where a household or a halaqa of up to two hundred reads towards a shared goal.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. No advertising, no subscription, no in-app purchases, and no feature held back behind a price.
Do I have to sign up?
No. The app opens straight into the Quran, and reading, listening, prayer times and memorisation all work with no account at all. One is created on your device the first time you use a family circle, since a circle has to know who is who.
Does it work without the internet?
The mushaf, the azkar, the tasbih, the Names, the hadith library, the prayer-time calculation and anything you have downloaded all work offline. A connection is needed for family circles and their chat, for Quran radio and live channels, and once for the speech model used by Hifz with AI.
Is my recitation recorded?
No. Speech recognition runs entirely on your device with a model the app carries. No audio is recorded, stored or transmitted anywhere.
Why does the app want my location?
For prayer times and the Qibla direction, and only while the app is open. It never leaves your device. If you would rather not give it, set your city by hand instead — the times are the same.
Start with your own four pages
Install it, read today's pages, and tell one person the nickname of your circle. That is the whole of it.
